O LEVEL

The O Level syllabus, particularly the NIELIT O Level course, covers four main modules: Information Technology Tools and Network BasicsWeb Designing and PublishingProgramming and Problem Solving Through Python, and Internet of Things and its Applications. These modules are supported by practical and project work, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of foundational IT skills. 

Module 1: Information Technology Tools and Network Basics 

  • Topics: Introduction to computers, hardware and software basics, input/output devices, operating systems (desktop and mobile), word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, and basic internet and digital financial tools.
  • Focus: Fundamental computer and network concepts, including operating system settings and file management. 

Module 2: Web Designing and Publishing 

  • Topics: HTML, CSS, CSS frameworks (like W3.CSS), JavaScript, front-end/back-end scripting, and web publishing.
  • Focus: Creating and maintaining websites, covering both client-side and server-side development aspects.

Module 3: Programming and Problem Solving through Python 

  • Topics: Programming concepts, algorithms, flowcharts, Python syntax, data types, control flow, functions, file processing.
  • Focus: Building a strong foundation in programming using the Python language, with an emphasis on problem-solving and data handling.

Module 4: Internet of Things and its Applications

  • Topics: Introduction to IoT, protocols, sensors, actuators, microcontrollers, Arduino IDE, embedded C language, and building IoT applications.
  • Focus: Understanding and creating applications for the Internet of Things, including security considerations.

Additional components

  • Practical and Project Work (PR1-R5): A practical exam covering skills learned in the first four modules.
  • Project Work (PJ1-R5): A project work component to apply the knowledge and skills gained throughout the course.
  • Soft Skills: Development of soft skills such as communication, personality development, and interview skills are also included.
